Girl dead in Batangas road mishap

LUCENA CITY — A 5-year-old girl died on Wednesday after the tricycle she was riding was hit by a truck in Mabini town in Batangas province.
The Batangas police reported Thursday that a dump truck driven by Edgardo Otlang lost its brakes at 11:35 a.m. while traveling in Barangay Pulong Niogan.
Investigators said the wayward truck hit two oncoming tricycles and seriously injured its passengers, including the fatality, Shen-Kyria Venice del Mundo.
The passengers were rushed to the nearest hospital, but Del Mundo was declared dead on arrival.
The truck driver was placed in police custody. INQ
