13 hurt in two-vehicle collision in Puerto Princesa City
PUERTO PRINCESA CITY – Thirteen persons, including two minors, were injured in a head-on collision between two vehicles along the Km. 25 of the south national highway in this city Saturday morning (December 10).
The Puerto Princesa City police report said the vehicular accident at 5 a.m. in Barangay (village) Sta. Lucia involved a Toyota Vios and a passenger jeepney.
Investigators said the Toyota Vios crossed to the opposite lane where the jeepney was traveling, which resulted in the head-on collision.
Police said Marc Oliver Tesorio So was driving the Toyota Vios while on the way to Aborlan town, Palawan, while the passenger jeepney was driven by Edgardo Ubay Padul. The jeepney had eight passengers and was on the way to the city center from Barangay Mangingisda when the incident happened.
Aboard the Vios with So were Jayson Factor, John Fetalino, and Mark Dave Saurin, while the passengers of the jeepney were identified as Jhona Lambuhun, Efren Lambuhun, Joel Jamilo, Mercy Cuya, Rosalina Opila, Mercidita Cuyo, and the two minors.
Both vehicles were damaged, and the passengers sustained physical injuries and were taken to a hospital by responding rescue personnel.
