The Colegio San Agustin (CSA) in Makati City has launched an investigation into a “fighting incident” between two of its Grade 9 students as it urged the public to avoid spreading a now-viral video of the Dec. 5 incident.
In a statement on Tuesday, CSA rector Fr. Dante Bendoy said the fight happened on Monday morning during recess.
“One of the roaming school guards received a request for assistance from a student to respond to an alleged accident in the boys’ comfort room. The guard who responded found two students who needed medical assistance and [who were] brought immediately to the school clinic,” he said.
According to Bendoy, the discipline group of CSA’s high school department has since conducted inquiries and directly communicated with the students involved as well as their parents.“As we assure the public that the school is treating this matter with extreme urgency and importance, we remind everyone to be mindful of consequences of sharing videos or photos on social media involving the minor students and avoid encouraging more acts of violence,” Bendoy said.
