MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 3.9 earthquake struck Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro, on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The tremor, which has a depth of 15 kilometers and is tectonic in origin, occurred eight kilometers east of Puerto Galera at 10:39 a.m., it added.

Phivolcs likewise reported that Instrumental Intensity IV was noted in Puerto Galera, Instrumental Intensity III in Calapan City also in Negros Oriental, and Instrumental Intensity I in Batangas City, Batangas and Abra de Ilog, Occidental Mindoro.
The earthquake is not expected to cause damage nor result in aftershocks, it added.
