Two earthquakes rattle Bukidnon
MANILA, Philippines — Two earthquakes rocked Bukidnon on Tuesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In separate bulletins, Phivolcs said a magnitude 4.4 quake jolted Pangantucan at 7:39 a.m. with the epicenter located 13 kilometers northwest of the town and at 7:54 a.m., a quake hit Kalilangan with the epicenter traced four kilometers northwest of the municipality.
State seismologists noted that the two earthquakes – both tectonic in origin – may have caused damage, but aftershocks were not expected.
Pagasa said the Pangantucan tremor registered Instrumental Intensity I in Talakag, Bukidnon; Kidapawan City, Cotabato; Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental; and Tupi, South Cotabato, while the Kalilangan temblor resulted in Instrumental Intensity IV in Kalilangan, Bukidnon, Instrumental Intensity II in Talakag, Bukidnon, and Instrumental Intensity I in Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental and Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
