Motorcycle driver dead, back-rider hurt in Isabela hit-and-run

CAUAYAN CITY — A 31-year-old rider died while his back-rider was injured when their motorcycle was rammed by a delivery truck along the national road in Alicia town in Isabela on Friday, December 2, police said on Saturday.

Federico Rico, 31 and a resident of Angadanan, also in Isabela, died instantly while back rider Shiela Mae Rodillas, 23, also from Agdangan, was taken to the nearest hospital for treatment of wounds after the motorcycle they were riding on their way home was hit by a truck that overtook another car in Apanay village around 9 p.m., the police report said.

The still unidentified truck driver allegedly fled from the accident scene.

Police initiated a follow-up probe and pursuit of the truck driver.
