New Comelec listup test run starts Dec. 17
Employees of the Senate, House of Representatives and the Government Service Insurance System and mall goers in five shopping malls in Metro Manila will get first crack at the “register anywhere” scheme for voters beginning Dec. 17. The Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) initiative will allow individuals 18 years and above who are not yet registered as voters to sign up in any of the eight pilot test sites, regardless of their city or municipality of residence. Currently, voter registration sites including malls, are only allowed to sign up residents of the city or municipality where the registration site is located. The pilot test of the register anywhere project will be held every Saturday and Sunday between Dec. 17 to Jan. 22 next year. —DONA Z. PAZZIBUGAN
