DOH logs 810 new COVID-19 infections; active cases down to 18,250

An additional 810 infections of COVID-19 were registered by the Department of Health (DOH) on Tuesday, with active cases slightly down to 18,250.

MANILA, Philippines — An additional 810 infections of COVID-19 were registered as the Department of Health (DOH) released on Tuesday the latest tally, which shows active cases slightly down to 18,250.

With this, the country’s COVID-19 caseload is now at 4,035,487 nationwide, with 3,952,612 recoveries and 64,620 deaths.

These new infections are also slightly lower than the average daily infections recorded from Nov. 21 to 27 at 1,147, this is also lower than the cases recorded on Monday, which was at 1,083.

Metro Manila continued to lead the list of regions with the most cases in the past two weeks with 4,195 cases, followed by Calabarzon at second with 1,917 infections, and Western Visayas with 1,121.

In terms of individual areas with the most cases, Quezon City led with 811 infections, followed by Manila which had 707, and Cavite with 639.

Meanwhile, 11,387 tests were conducted on Wednesday, which will reflect the number of cases on Wednesday
