PH logs 8,032 infections from Nov. 21 to 27

The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said it recorded a total of 8,032 infections of COVID-19 from Nov. 21 to 27, only slightly higher than the cases recorded the previous week, which was at 8,004.

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday said it recorded a total of 8,032 infections of COVID-19 from Nov. 21 to 27, only slightly higher than the cases recorded the previous week, which was at 8,004.

According to the DOH in its latest weekly report, the latest count translated to a daily average of 1,147, which was 0.3 percent higher than what was recorded from Nov. 14 to 20 at 1,143

Meanwhile, only five or 0.06 percent of the total cases were tagged as severe or critical, bringing the active number of severe or critical cases to 599.

A total of 120 deaths, meanwhile, were also added to the country’s COVID-19 death toll — 17 of which occurred the past two weeks, while the rest were backlogs recorded as early as July 2020.

Non-ICU utilization rate, on the other hand, rose from 23.1 to 25.2 percent, while ICU-utilization rate rose from 20.9 to 21.6 percent.

In terms of the progress in vaccination against COVID-19, fully-vaccinated individuals now number 73,592,319 (94.23 percent of target population), with 45,420 new vaccinations, while individuals with booster shots, now total 20,718,469 after 87,495 additional individuals were inoculated in the same period.

Meanwhile, the DOH through its COVID-19 tracker registered 1,083 fresh infections on Monday, Nov. 28, bringing active cases to 18,507.

This brought the total COVID-19 caseload to 4,034,658, with 3,951,543 recoveries and 64,608 deaths.
