PNP seizes P21 million worth of illegal drugs from Nov. 21-27
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Monday said it has seized P21 million worth of illegal drugs as it conducted its anti-illegal operations this past week.
According to PNP Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) Director PBGen. Narciso Domingo, the drugs consisted of 613.10 grams of shabu, 84,500 marijuana plants, 10 grams marijuana dried leaves and five grams of high-grade Kush Marijuana, all estimated to be worth P21,077,780.
A total of 50 drug suspects, meanwhile, were arrested with no fatalities recorded.
PNP officer in charge Lt.Gen. Rhodel Sermonia then commended the seizure of the drugs, noting the PNP’s commitment to run after persons wanted by law and suppressing the proliferation of illegal drugs.
“Our drive becomes stronger as we work for the people, with the people, having in mind that the government’s drug prevention drive will not be successful without the strong partnership and collaboration with the different government agencies, community, stakeholders from private sectors, advocacy support group, and other non-government organizations,” Sermonia said.
