LUCENA CITY — Police drug enforcement units (DEU) in Cavite province busted four suspects on Sunday and Monday, Nov. 27 and 28, and seized illegal drugs and firearms.
The Region 4A police said DEU operatives in Dasmariñas City arrested Bernie Tibatib in a buy-bust operation at 12:20 a.m. Monday in Barangay H-2.
Authorities confiscated from the suspect marijuana with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P165,000.
Police tagged Tibatib as a “high-value” target in the local drug war, a drug group leader, and a gun-for-hire gang member.
In Bacoor City, anti-narcotics agents arrested Rosendo Nofuente, also classified as a high-value target, and drug syndicate member, during a sting operation around 8 p.m. Sunday in Barangay Salina 1.
The suspect yielded P6,800 worth of shabu and an undocumented .38 revolver.
Tanza town police DEU members collared Denrick Tahimic and Marvin Armonia in a buy-bust operation at 5 p.m. on Sunday in Barangay Bagtas.
The police said they found an illegal .357 revolver with three bullets from the suspects.
Cops in this city busted June Gerez and Elmena Valentin in an anti-illegal drug operation at 2:16 a.m. Monday in Barangay Ibabang Iyam, Lieutenant Colonel Reynaldo Reyes, city police chief, said in a report.
The duo, both identified drug pushers, yielded P17,340 worth of shabu.
All suspects were placed under police custody and would face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Nofuente, Tahimic, and Armonia will be slapped with another case of illegal possession of firearms. INQ
