TUGUEGARAO CITY — A series of mild earthquakes hit Apayao and Cagayan provinces early Friday, Nov. 25, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
A magnitude 2.2 earthquake hit Conner in Apayao at 4:47 a.m. Friday. The quake, which was tectonic, was traced some 11 kilometers southwest of the town, the Phivolcs said in a bulletin.
Conner was jolted earlier, at 4:25 a.m., by a magnitude 2.7 earthquake that was also tectonic.
At 1:08 a.m. on Friday, a magnitude 1.7 quake hit Apayao’s Calanasan town. It was traced about 10 km northwest of the municipality and at a depth of 20 km.
Pudtol, also in Apayao, was struck at 12:12 a.m. by a 1.6 quake about 5 km northwest of the town. The temblor had a depth of 32 km.
In Cagayan’s Abulug town, a 1.7 temblor was felt at 1:09 a.m. on Friday. and was traced 23 km northeast of the town at a depth of 97 km. INQ
