Over P500,000 meth, marijuana seized in Southern Tagalog
LUCENA CITY — Police anti-narcotics operatives arrested five drug suspects and seized more than P553,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and marijuana in buy-bust operations on Wednesday and Thursday in Cavite, Laguna, and Batangas provinces.
The Cavite drug enforcement unit collared at 11:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Akisah Ali Tocalosarip and an alias “Dom,” a minor, after they sold P12,000 worth of meth to a poseur buyer in Barangay Salawag in Dasmariñas City, the Region 4A police reported on Thursday, Nov. 24.
The suspects, both “high-value” targets in the local drug war, were found with four sachets of shabu weighing 50 grams worth about P340,000, as valued by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).
In Balayan town, Batangas, police busted Jever Ramirez at 9:06 p.m. in Barangay District 2.
Ramirez, who was not on the police watch list, was caught with a kilo of marijuana worth P120,000 as per DDB valuation.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Batangas City, anti-illegal drugs operatives arrested at 6:47 p.m. Marvin Pensuca, a drug trader, in Barangay Balagtas. Pensuca yielded shabu worth P35,190.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Binangonan, Rizal, cops collared at 7:15 p.m. Alvin Santos, an alleged drug pusher, in Barangay Pantok.
Authorities confiscated P30,600 worth of meth from Santos.
In San Pedro City, Laguna, police held at 1:48 a.m. on Thursday Jerry Teñido, a listed drug peddler, in Barangay Cuyab. He was caught carrying shabu worth P27,600.
All suspects were detained and will be charged of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
