LUCENA CITY – Police anti-narcotics operatives caught five drug suspects on Friday and Saturday (November 18 and 19) and seized over P170,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) and marijuana or “weed” in buy-bust operations in Cavite province.

The Region 4A police reported that members of the Cavite drug enforcement unit collared Joshua Luna and Jhefferson Bainto around 3:50 a.m. Saturday after they sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay (village) Palico 2 in Imus City.

The police confiscated from the suspects, both on the drug watch list, three sachets of meth weighing 10 grams with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P68,000.

Also in Imus, the same police group busted Zeejay Cabansag in a sting operation in Barangay Anabu 3F around 4:50 p.m. on Friday.

The suspect, classified as a “high-value” target in the local drug war, yielded 38 packs of marijuana with a DDB value of P67,500.

Meanwhile, in Naic town, police arrested Karl Michael Cometa and Marlon Bautista, both identified drug pushers, in Barangay Molino around 11:30 p.m.

The duo possessed eight sachets of dried marijuana leaves worth P35,500 as per DDB valuation.

All suspects were detained and will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
