MANILA, Philippines — Three hundred sacks of garbage have been collected from the so-called Dolomite Beach on Manila Bay, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported.

The PCG said its Special Operation Force (SOF) and Auxiliary conducted the coastal and underwater cleanup drives at the artificial white sand coast on Thursday.

In a statement posted on the PCG Facebook page, Coast Guard Commodore Edgardo Hernando emphasized the significance of regular patrols and quarterly cleanup drives to rehabilitate the bay.

For the sake of future generations, he urged the general people to join him in safeguarding the marine environment.
