DOT to launch North Luzon travel fair from Nov. 18-20

A travel fair will be launched in North Luzon from Nov. 18 to 20, in an effort to boost tourism recovery and cultural diversity, said the Department of Tourism (DOT) on Tuesday.

MANILA, Philippines —  A travel fair will be launched in North Luzon from Nov. 18 to 20 to boost tourism recovery and cultural diversity, said the Department of Tourism (DOT) on Tuesday.

According to DOT in a statement, the fair will be commenced through its regional offices in Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Central Luzon, in partnership with Alliance of Travel and Tour Agencies of Pampanga (ATTAP), at the SMX Convention Center in Clark, Pampanga.

Other participating regions of the Travel Fair are Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Soccsksargen, and Caraga.

The three-day event is expected to gather around 100 exhibitors and 30 sellers.

DOT said the fair would be conducted in accordance with the agency’s goals, which DOT Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco pointed out as one of the seven-point objectives of the Department, which is the diversification of portfolio from traditional to multidimensional tourism, not only anchored on accommodations, destinations, and restaurants but also on the products of local artisans and craftsmen in the country.

Industries expected to participate in the event include airlines, health and wellness facilities, hotel and leisure facilities, theme parks, amusement centers, travel, tour operators and providers, tourism boards, and Kapampangan food concessionaires.

The DOT will use the theme “Weaving Our Way to Recovery,” creating a one-stop-shop venue for industry collaboration, showcasing the domestic tourism destinations, products, services, delicacies, gifts and pasalubong items, as well as cultural presentations from the northern side of the Philippines.
