MANILA, Philippines — Classes in Signal Village National High School in Taguig City were suspended Monday after a bomb threat.
The Taguig City Police Station said the alleged threat was monitored on Facebook live in which a certain Sofia Smith commented about a bomb threat.
“Sa ngayon ay sinuspende ng Signal Village ang mga klase para maibsan ‘yung takot at panic ng ating kababayan sa post na ito,” the city police said in a statement.
(As of now, classes in Signal Village have been suspended to ease the fears and panic of our countrymen from this post.)
“Habang ginagawa ng ating kapulisan ang lahat na hakbang upang matiyak ang seguridad ng ating mga estudyante at lahat ng staff sa mga eskwelahan, hinihikayat namin ang bawat isa na maging kalmado, alerto at agad i-report sa amin ang kahina-hinalang bagay o kilos,” it added.

Paneling and patrolling of schools in Taguig City, especially in Signal Village, has since been ordered by authorities.
The local police and the Philippine National Police-Anti-Cybercrime Group are conducting an investigation to identify the suspect.
The local government of Taguig later said that neither bomb nor explosive was discovered during the sweeping operation.
“NO bomb or explosive was found during the sweeping operation, contrary to information spreading online,” it said in a separate statement.
The city government likewise called on the public to keep calm as they guaranteed everyone’s safety.
It also urged the public to avoid sharing false information that leads to panic and alarm in the community.
