CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Policemen on Tuesday, Nov. 1, confiscated P408,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) from a “high-value individual” in the campaign against illegal drugs.
The regional police said in a statement Wednesday that they arrested Rohaina Maromaya, 53, of Dasmariñas City, Cavite in a buy-bust operation at Barangay San Jose in this city, and seized from her some 60 grams of suspected shabu.
They also arrested on Tuesday two suspected drug peddlers at Estacion village in Paniqui town, Tarlac province.
Lieutenant Colonel Edison Pascasiao, chief of Paniqui police, said Joshua Alsisto, 29, and Bill Diamond Bao-Idang, 27, both of Baguio City, sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover policeman.
“During the operation, [the] suspects tried to elude arrest and attempted to bump into the arresting officers, which prompted [them] to fire on the tires of the vehicle of the suspects,” Pascasiao said.
The police said they seized 10 more sachets with suspected shabu after arresting the two.
They identified Alsisto as a “high-value individual,” adding that he was arrested in Baguio City for drug pushing in November 2020.
The arrested suspects face charges of alleged violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
