2-year-old boy, two others hurt in carnival ride mishap in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Three people, including a 2-year-old boy, were injured in a carnival ride accident in Masinloc town in this province, police said on Tuesday.

According to reports, Rodelina Ulao, 24; Carla Mae Calbonge, 23; and the 2-year-old boy were on a caterpillar ride when their seat broke down after the operator accelerated the speed.

The victims were thrown from their seats and fell about 6 feet to the ground, police said.

Investigators said the victims sustained severe injuries and were taken to the Rural Health Unit in Masinloc.

The ride operator was arrested and will face a charge of reckless imprudence resulting in multiple injuries. INQ
