Missing crew member of distressed barge in Zambales found dead

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — The missing crew member of a barge that ran aground in the shallow waters off Barangay Bangan in Botolan town was found dead in the capital town of Iba on Tuesday.

PO3 Mar Marasigan, coast guard sub-station commander in Botolan, told the Inquirer that the body of Arland Baculando, 34, was discovered at a private resort in Iba’s Barangay San Agustin.

On Sunday, October 30, the barge was seen in the waters off Botolan’s Barangay Porac while being struck by huge waves at the height of the Severe Tropical Storm “Paeng” (international name: Nalgae).
