Man to face parricide for grandpa’s death

A parricide case will be filed against a man who mauled his grandfather to death in Villaba town, Leyte

ORMOC CITY — Policemen were set to file a parricide case against a man who mauled his grandfather to death in Villaba town, Leyte on Tuesday, October 25.

Rey Antonio Sabang, 29, was accused of killing his 86-year-old grandfather Venidecto. Police said the incident happened at about 2:45 p.m. in Barangay Hibulangan.

The victim was brought to the Tabango Community Hospital for medical treatment but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.

Case investigator Police Cpl. Jason Tagalog said they are conducting an in-depth investigation of the incident.

The suspect is currently detained at the police station in Villaba town.
