LEGAZPI CITY — Police dismantled a drug den and arrested eight drug suspects in separate buy-bust operations on Sunday, Oct. 23, in the Bicol region.
Lieutenant Colonel Arnel De Jesus, chief of Daet town police in Camarines Norte, reported that Eric Balmes, 34, Allan Mark Ilan, 35, and Eddie Sablaon, 40, were arrested at 2:05 p.m. in Barangay Calasgasan,
Balmes, the alleged drug den operator, was the subject of the operation.
The authorities recovered 20 grams of “shabu” (crystal meth) worth P136,000, aluminum foil strips, an improvised burner, a glass tooter, and other drug tools.
In Camarines Sur, Ricky Villar, 41, was arrested at 9:50 p.m. in Barangay Fabrica in Bula town.
Lieutenant Colonel Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said they recovered two sachets of shabu worth P5,440 from the suspect.
In Lagonoy, Mac Kevin Palma, 29, was arrested around 9 p.m. in Barangay San Rafael.
Police confiscated two sachets of shabu worth P700 and a sachet of marijuana.
In Libmanan, Joseph Boy Comia, 41, was arrested around 8:30 p.m. in Barangay Aslong. Authorities recovered two grams of shabu worth P13,600.
Comia was on the illegal drug watchlist.
In Ocampo, Mark John Caletisen, 24, was arrested at 8:55 p.m. in Barangay San Francisco. Two sachets of shabu worth P1,000 were confiscated from Caletisen.
In Legazpi City in Albay, Anthony Orense, 37, was arrested at 1:20 p.m. in Barangay Penaranda.
Authorities recovered five grams of shabu worth P34,000 from Orense, who was a street-level drug peddler.
The suspects face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. INQ
