Magnitude 4.6 earthquake jolts Davao Oriental

MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.6 earthquake jolted Davao Oriental Saturday morning, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

Phivolcs detected the earthquake at 1:53 a.m. and traced its epicenter 61 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso, Davao Oriental.

The tectonic earthquake’s depth of focus was 65  kilometers.

Phivolcs reported the following Instrumental Intensities: 

Instrumental Intensity II – Malungon, Sarangani; Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; Tupi, South Cotabato

Instrumental Intensity I – Davao City; Kiamba and Alabel, Sarangani; General Santos City and Tampakan, South Cotabato  

No aftershocks and damage are expected, Phivolcs said.
