NDRRMC: Tropical Depression Maymay affected 22,681; death of fisherman for validation
MANILA, Philippines — The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Friday that Tropical Depression Maymay affected 22,681 people and that it is validating the death of a 52-year-old fisherman from Cagayan province.
The NDRRMC said that as of October 14, it has verified the death of a 47-year-old man who drowned at sea at the height of Maymay. The fatality was also a resident of Cagayan.

It also reported that 261 people in Region 2 or Cagayan Valley Region were evacuated from their homes ahead of Maymay and that 785 people were displaced and still staying at 17 evacuation centers.
While Maymay has dissipated, Tropical Depression Neneng was still within the country and projected to affect parts of northern Luzon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
