Man hurt in Albay town holdup

LEGAZPI CITY — A 36-year-old man was injured Wednesday after an armed robber shot him in Daraga town in Albay.

Colonel Fernando Cunanan, Albay police chief, reported Thursday, Oct. 13, that while Allan Ramos, 36, was buying a soft drink at a store in Barangay Kimantong, two unidentified men approached him and declared a hold-up around 8:30 p.m.

Cunanan said the victim refused to give his sling bag and fought with one of the suspects.

The suspect’s cohort shot the victim using an unknown caliber of firearm and took his sling bag. The suspects immediately fled.

Ramos suffered a bullet wound in his right thigh and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The police conducted a follow-up investigation for possible identification of the suspects and recovery of the stolen items.
