Fisherman found dead amid Tropical Depression Maymay onslaught in Cagayan province
TUGUEGARAO CITY — The body of a fisherman in Buguey town, Cagayan province, was recovered Tuesday, Oct. 11, hours after he went missing while venturing out into the sea as Tropical Depression Maymay spawned heavy rains across Cagayan Valley.
Ruelie Rapsing, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, identified the man as Marcial Pugal.
Pugal went fishing early Tuesday despite a gale warning and the no-fishing policy imposed on the province as a preemptive measure against the impact of Maymay.
The fisherman’s body was recovered in the waters off Cagayan’s Santa Ana town late Tuesday. INQ
