Bongbong Marcos reappoints Uy as DICT chief

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has reappointed Ivan John Uy as the Department of Informations and Communications Technology (DICT) secretary.
Marcos on Thursday administered the oath of office of Uy at the Malacañang Palace.
Uy’s appointment was earlier bypassed by the powerful Commission on Appointments, along with 14 other Cabinet officials.
Marcos earlier this week administered the oath of office of 10 Cabinet officials.
Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin explained earlier that Uy was not among those who took their oath since he was abroad but gave assurance that the DICT chief will be reappointed.
