Masbate wanted felon hurt in clash with cops in Cavite

LUCENA CITY — A man wanted for murder in Masbate province was wounded Wednesday after he resisted arrest in Indang town in Cavite.

The Region 4A police reported on Thursday, Oct. 6, that operatives with a warrant swooped down around 10 p.m. on the hideout of Rodel Royo in Barangay Kayquit 3.

Instead of surrendering, Royo fired at the police using a .38 gun but missed his target.

The police returned fire and hit Royo on his right leg, right palm, and left buttock.

He was taken to the General Emilio Aguinaldo Memorial Hospital in neighboring Trece Martirez City for treatment.

Royo is wanted for two murder charges in Masbate and is number six among wanted felons in Bicol.
