2 nabbed for illegal drugs, guns in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY — Two persons were arrested for possession of illegal drugs and gun running in separate operations in Bicol region on Monday, October 3.

In Camarines Sur province, Police Major Divino John Pelea, Baao police chief, said in a report that Angelow Hipolito, 21, sold a caliber .38 gun with two bullets in Barangay (village) Sagrada at around 10:20 p.m.

During the body search, the police also recovered two sachets of shabu (crystal meth) worth P6,800 and a rolled aluminum foil.

Pelea said Hipolito was identified as a gun runner and listed as a street level drug peddler.

In Jose Panganiban town in Camarines Norte province, the suspect identified only as “Lolon”, 38, was arrested in a search operation in Barangay Bagongbayan at around 11:45 a.m.

Police Major Ace Flores, chief of Jose Panganiban police, said authorities recovered a caliber .38 gun with five bullets and four sachets or two grams of shabu worth P13,600.

The suspects face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
