Padilla recovering after undergoing heart procedure

MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Robinhood Padilla  is now recovering after undergoing a heart procedure at the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City on Saturday.

“The Senator will continue with his recovery during the weekend, and expects to return to his work and normal routines soonest,” Padilla’s office said in a statement.

The senator, the statement said, had already been cleared to go home.

Padilla then thanked supporters for the “outpouring of prayers and well wishes for his speedy recovery.”

“We will provide further updates on Sen. Padilla as needed,” the statement added.
