Village chief shoots cousin in Masbate town
LEGAZPI CITY — A farmer was wounded after a village chief shot him on Thursday in Cataingan town in Masbate.
Lieutenant Colonel Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said Anacleto Temblor, 50, was walking on his way home around 6 p.m. when shot several times by his cousin, Leon Gimeno, 65, the chief of Barangay Tagboan.
Temblor managed to escape, but suffered bullet wounds to his left arm and right leg.
He was taken to the Cataingan District Hospital for treatment.
Investigators said Gimeno surrendered and confessed to the shooting.
