Saigon 5 stuns SMB in ABL

THE San Miguel Beermen took the Saigon Heat too lightly and paid dearly for it as they suffered a 63-66 upset loss in the Asean Basketball League at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

The Beermen played uninspired basketball all-night long and suffered their fourth loss in 14 games to remain in second place behind the AirAsia Philippine Patriots, who hold a 10-2 (win-loss) record.

The Saigon Heat continued their giant-killing ways as reinforcements Jahmar Thorpe and Jonathan Jones took center stage with a combined 43 points to lead the squad to their fourth victory in 11 matches and snap the Beermen’s five-game winning streak.  /Correspondent Jonas Paenrio
