5 Zambales towns now COVID – free

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales – Five towns in Zambales are now free from COVID-19 based on data released by the provincial health office on Saturday.

The municipality of Subic has zero active cases after the only patient recovered on Friday.

The towns of Botolan, Palauig, and Sta. Cruz remained COVID-free since last week while San Marcelino town had no reported cases since Sept. 10.

Since 2020, the province reported a total of 12,357 confirmed cases, including 16 active cases, 11,627 recoveries and 714 deaths.

Only 407,753 residents or 62.77 percent of the province’s population are fully vaccinated against the disease, 22,493 or 3.46 percent are still waiting to get their second dose, and 219,369 or 33.77 percent of the residents are unvaccinated.
