Nine Zambales towns remain free of COVID-19

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least nine of the 13 municipalities in this province managed to stay free of COVID-19 infections after recording zero new cases in the past few weeks, local data showed Tuesday.

Only the towns of Subic, Botolan, Castillejos, and Candelaria have active infections.

Zambales has been recording zero new COVID-19 cases for several days last week.

So far, the province has already recorded 11, 658 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic struck in 2020. But at least 11,297 have already recovered from the viral disease while 665 have died from it.

At least 394, 169 residents here have been fully inoculated against COVID-19, reflecting 60.68 percent of the population. Of this figure, a total of 68, 231 have already received their booster shots.
