MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued two fishermen who were in a half-submerged motorbanca (motorized fishing boat) in the waters off Naic, Cavite.

The fishermen, identified as George Gapate, 52, and Rodolfo Tulibas, 18, encountered big waves that damaged their motorbanca’s hull and caused the boat to submerge, according to the PCG’s incident report posted on Thursday.

“[PCG] Sub-Station Tanza responded to a maritime incident involving half-submerged M/bca “Mommy Yolls” with two fishermen onboard at the vicinity waters off Labac, Naic, Cavite, yesterday, 21 September 2022,” said the PCG in the same report.

The PCG’s search and rescue team confirmed that both fishermen are in good condition.
