Marijuana worth P498,000 seized in Lucena City
LUCENA CITY — Police confiscated more than P498,000 worth of marijuana from an alleged big-time trafficker in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday in this city.
Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, said joint police operatives and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents nabbed at 8:26 a.m. John Dave Ariles, 22, after he allegedly sold a pack of marijuana or “weeds” to a poseur buyer in Barangay 1.
Authorities seized two weighing scales and 12 plastic sachets of “weeds” weighing 1,383.7 grams with a street value of P498,192.
The police tagged the suspect as SLI (street-level individuals) on the drug watchlist.
The suspect was detained and is facing charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
