MANILA, Philippines — Philippine senators on Friday signed the book of condolences for the death of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch, Queen Elizabeth II.
Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, Senators Nancy Binay and Cynthia Villar went to the residence of British Ambassador to the Philippines Laure Beaufils for the signing.
Binay and Legarda posted photos of their signing on Twitter, sympathizing and condoling anew over the queen’s passing.

“Aming lubos na pasasalamat sa [British Embassy in Manila] sa pangunguna ni Ambassador [Laure Beaufils] at aming taos pusong pakikiramay sa Royal Family at sa lahat ng mga nagdadalamhati sa pagpanaw ni Queen Elizabeth II,” Binay captioned the photos.

Legarda, meanwhile, wrote: “I wish to convey my deepest condolences on the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

In grieving the monarch’s demise, the Senate adopted a resolution expressing its sympathy and condolences.
Queen Elizabeth, 96, peacefully died at the Balmoral Castle on September 8.
