MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested three people allegedly offering services for deletion of marriage records for a fee.

Agents of the NBI-Special Action Unit arrested in separate entrapment operations a certain Carl Reyes (aka Gladdies Rodriguez Reyes), and couple Marco Norega and Rona Castillo.

Reyes, who reportedly asked for 75-percent down payment on the P180,000 fee, was arrested as soon as he received marked money from the poseur-client whom he promised to have his marriage record at the Philippine Statistical Authority “deleted” within four months.

Norega and Castillo were also arrested in an entrapment operation after receiving payment from a poseur-client whom they promised marriage annulment documents within five to eight months.

The operations stemmed from a request of Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo to investigate rampant online advertisements of annulment packages, the NBI said. —TINA G. SANTOS
