MANILA, Philippines — Three more officials were appointed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to key posts, documents from the Office of the Press Secretary on Thursday showed.

According to separate appointment letters from Marcos, Geraldine Marie Berberabe Martinez and Gideon de Villa Mortel were appointed as members of the Governance Commission for Government-Owned or Controlled Corporations (GOCC) while James Arandila Layug was named Assistant Secretary of the Department of Agriculture (DA).

Martinez and Mortel would replace former GOCC commission members Michael Cloribel and Marites Doral.

Layug, on the other hand, would have a co-terminus stint at the Marcos-headed DA, replacing Federico Laciste Jr.

According to Press Secretary Trixie Cruz-Angeles, Layug used to be with the Department of Information and Communication Technology.  Martinez’ name meanwhile can be found on the Government Service Insurance System website, as she served as a trustee of the state-owned insurer.
