MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga —Bureau of Customs (BOC) authorities seized on Tuesday 35 grams of high-grade marijuana worth P45,500 at the Port of Clark in this city.
Glenn Guillermo, public information officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 3 (PDEA-3), said they arrested one Johanna Claire Clarion during a “controlled delivery” after she accepted at 3:40 p.m. the package in Malabon City.
Operatives pretended to be a courier company’s delivery personnel and accosted the claimant as soon as she accepted the package.
Personnel from PDEA-3, Clark Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, PDEA-National Capital Region, and BOC Port of Clark conducted the entrapment.
Guillermo said the package arrived on Sept. 5 at the Port of Clark from the United States and was declared as “goodies.”
He said they found the marijuana after the package was subjected to X-ray and K9 sniffing.
Clarion was detained and will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs act of 2002. INQ
