2 arrested after claiming ‘kush’ package delivered at Clark

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga –Two men were arrested in Muntinlupa City on Monday (May 2) for accepting a package containing some P325,000 worth of “kush” (high-grade marijuana) that arrived via Clark Freeport.

In a statement, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 3 identified the arrested claimants as Glennrene Esguerra, 26, consignee of the package, and his companion, Jaime Jayme, 20.

It said the Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark found the 250 grams of kush inside a package from the United States declared as containing tea leaves on April 22.

According to the PDEA, the package was detected by K9 dogs and tests showed two silver plastic pouches containing the high-grade dried marijuana buds.

The “controlled delivery”, or entrapment operation at Bayanan village in Muntinlupa, was conducted by the regional PDEA, Clark Inter Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group, Bureau of Customs Port of Clark and Aviation Security Group in the region.
