LIGAO CITY — Former Vice President and lawyer Leni Robredo went to Guinobatan town in Albay province on Tuesday to inaugurate the community learning hub at the ‘Angat Buhay’ Village Housing Project.
The structure, made of light materials, was built in 15 days through combined efforts of the villagers in Barangay Mauraro.
“Seeing you all working for the good of everyone inspires me to work harder. Thank you for the support and making this possible,” Robredo told the villagers.
She also thanked the would-be volunteer teachers for their services to educate the children.
Arpie Patriarca, owner of Feed Hungry Minds Library Inc., told the Inquirer in a text message Tuesday that learning is accessible for each child in the village with reading materials provided in partnership with Angat Pinas Inc.
Angat Pinas Inc. is a non-profit that Robredo launched after the May 2022 polls. The organization aims to help fight poverty in various communities in the country.
“With this learning hub, over 100 children in the community will have special tutorials coupled with feeding program to keep them healthy,” Patriarca said.
