DTI to launch text advisory for consumers

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) will launch a text blasting facility to spread information needed by consumers such as suggested retail prices and advisories.

Trade Undersecretary Ruth Castelo, head of DTI’s consumer protection group, said on Saturday, that the public can subscribe to this program.

“All of our advisories, notices, invitations on the activities of the consumer protection group, they will receive that,” Castelo said.

She said mobile phone users can subscribe via Smart Communications, Globe Telecom, and DITO Telecommunity.

Smart users can text “SUBSCRIBE 1-384” and send it to 09603544154. Users of other networks can send to 0966-9784816 or 0919-1602303.
