DICT begins probe into LTO’s sluggish online registration system
MANILA, Philippines — The investigation into the cause of the “system slowdown” of the Land Transportation Office’s (LTO) online licensing and registration system has already begun, said the agency on Thursday.
The LTO made the announcement on Wednesday after it sought the assistance of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) after its IT contractor Dermalog said that a “network issue” resulted in the slowdown of the Land Transportation Management Systems (LTMS), further noting that it may possibly be a sabotage.
“Ngayong araw ay nagdeploy na sila ng Mobile Security Operation Center upang masuri kung ano ang pinanggagalingan ng problema,” said the LTO in a statement.
