Farmer gunned down in Quezon province

LUCENA CITY — A 57-year-old farmer was shot and killed Wednesday by a motorcycle-riding gunman in San Francisco town in Quezon province.
San Francisco police reported on Thursday, September 8, that Edison Dignos of Barangay Pugon, was walking around 6 a.m. towards his farm, when the assailant appeared and shot him with a handgun.
The gunman sped off after the shooting.
Dignos was taken to the San Francisco Municipal Hospital in the town center but died on the way.
Police are investigating the incident to establish the motive behind the killing and launched a manhunt to arrest the assailant.
