Farmer kills another farmer in Quezon
LUCENA CITY–A 43-year-old farmer was shot dead by another farmer, who had earlier threatened to kill him, in San Francisco town in Quezon province on Tuesday.
A report from the Quezon police headquarters, said Benito Velasco, was drinking water in their kitchen in Barangay Silongin when he was shot by Jeric Camacho, also a resident of the same village, around 5 p.m.
Velasco suffered a fatal bullet wound on his chest and was rushed to the Bondoc Peninsula District Hospital in Catanauan town, but was declared dead on arrival.
Investigators found that Velasco and Camacho had a heated argument last January 15.
During the fight, Camacho reportedly threatened to kill Velasco.
Police initiated a manhunt against Camacho, who is facing murder charges./lb
