Cloudy skies with scattered rains to prevail in Zambales, Bataan on Tuesday night
MANILA, Philippines — Southwest monsoon and the intertropical convergence zone will bring cloudy skies, scattered rainfall, and thunderstorms to Zambales, Bataan, Mimaropa, and Western Visayas on Tuesday (ITCZ), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
“Patuloy pa rin na nakakaapekto ang southwest monsoon o habagat sa kanlurang bahagi ng Central at Southern Luzon, kaya asahan natin sa bahagi ng Zambales, Bataan, Mimaropa, at sa may Western Visayas ay makakaranas sila ng maulang gabi at may kasama yan na pagkidlat at pagkulog,” said Pagasa weather specialist Ana Jorda in the bureau’s public weather forecast.
(The southwest monsoon will continue to affect the western part of Central and Southern Luzon, so we expect that Zambales, Bataan, Mimaropa and Western Visayas will experience a rainy night with lighting and thunder.)
Jorda added that the southwest monsoon would also affect the Zamboanga Peninsula and the southern portion of Mindanao, bringing moderate and heavy rains on Tuesday evening.
Pagasa added that forecasters are also monitoring a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility but said it is unlikely to impact the country directly.

According to Pagasa, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy skies to cloudy skies, with isolated rain showers due to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms.
Pagasa said to be cautious of possible flash floods and landslides in areas affected by rainfall.
Pagasa did not raise any gale warnings for Tuesday.
