TAGBILARAN CITY — The town of San Miguel in Bohol province, in partnership with the Department of Agriculture (DA), will build a Bagsakan Center or farmers’ trading post to help provide a stable market for local farmers.

On Saturday, officials held the groundbreaking for the Bagsakan Center worth P9 million in Barangay San Isidro.

He told farmers about the importance of good agricultural practices to ensure that products are “fresh and beautiful.”

The new farmers’ trading center will also help avert losses from huge farm harvests which may spoil due to oversupply.

Products at the Bagsakan Center are expected to have lower prices than those sold in the local market.

San Miguel Mayor Ian Gil Mendez welcomed the project since it will help uplift the lives of farmers.

The entire Bagsakan Center has an area of 576 square meters which was provided by the local government.

The construction of the Bagsakan Center is expected to be finished within six to eight months.
