137 fire victims receive aid from Bacolod city government
BACOLOD CITY — Officials of this city have provided assistance to 51 families composed of 137 individuals whose houses were destroyed in two fire incidents on Wednesday.
City Social Welfare Officer Pacita Tero said Thursday, September 1, the city gave affected families food assistance, hygiene kits, mats, pillows, and blankets.
Families whose houses were destroyed by the fire will receive P10,000 each, while those with damaged houses will receive P5,000 each.
Tero said 14 houses were destroyed in Purok Amor, Lopez Jaena Street in Barangay Villamonte and affected 48 families with 130 members.
Eighteen families were still at the Villamonte gym, while others stayed with their relatives.
In Purok Macapina, Barangay 6, a house was destroyed while one was damaged, affecting three families with seven members.
