Pagasa: Fair Monday weather with possible rain showers; storm looms

MANILA, Philippines — Luzon can expect fair Monday weather with possible rain showers in the afternoon due to the ridge of high pressure area, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

“Itong mga thunderstorm na ito ay kadalasan nabubuo yan sa bandang hapon o gabi (These thunderstorms usually develop around the afternoon or evening),” Pagasa weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The state weather bureau added that fair to slightly cloudy weather is also expected in the Visayas and Mindanao regions.

Isolated rain showers are expected in the afternoon due to local thunderstorms, Pagasa said.

Storm, LPA alert

Meanwhile, Pagasa is still monitoring Tropical Storm “Hinnamnor” (international name) outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

Pagasa said the storm may enter PAR on Wednesday or Thursday.

A low pressure area may also develop within the week which may affect Northern Luzon, Pagasa said.
